Montagu Bay Primary sits in a picturesque location on the banks of the River Derwent underneath the Tasman Bridge. This year we have 13 classes from Kinder to Grade 6.

Our grounds are large and offer a variety of activities for our students to engage in at break times, such as:

  • Organised sport
  • Maker Space
  • Bike and scooter riding
  • Loose Parts Creative play
  • Reflective areas
  • School library
  • Climbing frame, tree climbing, swings and natural play spaces.

Our school has a strong focus on student wellbeing. Social, emotional and physical wellbeing for all is a priority, students are always at the centre of everything we do. We believe that a strong partnership between school and home is vital to ensure we support our students, in a changing world.

Our Wellbeing and Intervention teams along with School support professionals and School Nurse collaborate regularly.

We facilitate Inquiry learning with student voice and agency at the forefront of our teaching, to maximise student engagement.

Student Leadership opportunities are varied, including:

  • Fitness Leaders
  • Student Representative Team members
  • Grade 6 Executive Committee
  • Tech Leaders
  • Class Buddy Systems.

We offer on-site Before and After School Care provided by the Clarence Council, including care for kinder students on their half day.
